From the Photographers:
Katie and Steve's story is a memorable one and how I came to be their wedding photographer was off the beaten path. The two met in DC on a blind date after corresponding online. They hit it off instantaneously and forever knew it'd be something special. After 4 years together, Stev proposed and Katie said yes! They began to make plans to spend their day in Elkridge, Maryland amongst their most-cherished loved ones.
Fast foward a few months, Katie found my website through an engagement session I was offering to a lucky 2017 couple. We had the session and it's like we'd known each other for years. Since my husband tagged along, they were able to meet him, as well. We had a great time and after another couple months of correspondence, they decided to book me as their photographer. We were so ecstatic and couldn't wait to celebrate with our new friends.
The day consisted of well-thought-out details, most of which were curated by the bride herself. She chose them wisely we appreciate her thoughtfulness to this part of the day so incredibly much. She carried past and present heirlooms that will be passed down to future generations.
We realized continuing traditions is a big part of Katie's family. She opted to include her something "old, new, borrowed, and blue," these items of which consisted a personalized dress hanger, blue garter, her grandmother's bracelet, and a family bible passed down to generations of brides through her family's history. We loved the meaning behind these items and her decision to include them in such in important day in their lives.
We were incredibly honored and privileged to be a part of Katie and Steve's special day. We love how charming and intimate the atmosphere was and we honestly felt like part of the family as their guests welcomed us with open arms. We want to give a big thanks to the bride and groom for having us along to celebrate, and we wish them the absolute best as they begin their lives together as one.
